The biggest loser in this will be the Australian Govt, BHP, RIO, and FMG.
All I can say know to them is you've made bed, don't whinge when you lie in it.
Hopefully we will come out with a good 2nd offer as WN will be desperate to mop up the rest of the shares not in their control.
Sad day though for Australia. Looks like Wah Nam was too slippery, slimey, and greasy for any of our regulators to pin them on anything.
