We are being nickel and dimed here as the big boys play their games. In the meantime DLS SP will drift sideways as we are now sitting at support levels (I think).
Some of the questions I have are:
1. Will SVW make a move and how will that look?
2. What will SMW use their CR for? - I don't think they really stated what it was for. (finalised first week June)
3. Who's talking to who?
4. How are the other players STO, RDS etc positioning themselves?
5. How good (or bad) are the DLS reserves (PEL 513) that is to say what do they already know that we don't know? and
6. Will Richmond win another game this year?
All important questions.
BPT have said they are not talking to SVW and there was a suggestion that DLS haven't been approached.
I can almost guarantee that this is not true and there will be a lot of talking going on amongst those who matter. Unfortunately that doesn't include us.
We try to make decisions with imperfect information, but I would suggest that we do have perfect information and that is: wherever you see a human close to money, and I mean lots of money, there will be lies and misdirection. So I don't believe anything I hear in the media (or HC) especially when everything written is conditional eg would, could, should etc. Statements coming out of Saudi Arabia "oil will never reach $100 again" and commentary from Dennis Gartman, for example, only serve to mislead and create confusion. Gartman contradicts himself all the time - he even admits it. If you believe that any of the commentary in the media, from people who have skin in the game, is impartial, then you believe in the tooth fairy quite frankly. And so it goes for DLS. False info, misdirection and people who want your shares at the cheapest possible price. That coupled with confidentiality thrown in then we are left at the mercy of the media and rumours.
As retail investors we have not been served very well.
We shouldn't pretend that we know, how can we? Whatever happens will happen when it happens (Donald Rumsfeld clause) if you can follow that - as we, as usual, will have no real insight and will be surprised yet again, and look on and watch with shock and awe.
