These Tenements look like they cover the region where the "Welcome Stranger" nugget (2,400 oz) was found in 1869. The world's biggest nugget ever! The area around Bendigo is the second most prolific gold producing district in Australia. While that nugget has been described as alluvial, reading the description from those who found it clearly indicates it was associated with a lot of quartz and it obviously never traveled too far.
