The CEO of Codelco, Nelson Pizarro, announced this afternoon that the lithium explorations were started in the mining properties that they have in the Salar de Maricunga.
In the framework of the
presentation of the results , the Vice President of Administration and Finance of Codelco, Alejandro Rivera, said that copper created a company called Salar de Maricunga, which should develop the project through associations, for which it is developing a Declaration of Environmental Impact (DIA)
"The idea is to develop the project with associations and work on the consolidation of salaries with third parties (...) There is a company that has already been formed. It's called Salar Maricunga and the idea is that this is the vehicle that develops the project in partnership. On the occasion, Rivera also announced that the surrounding of USD 400 million remaining to capitalize the state, through the financing law generated in the Government of the previous administration, will be delivered in February, so the state prepares to start conversations to have clarity regarding the future financing by the State.
