Trevor Shard said at the AGM yesterday that all shareholders who got their SPP in by 3 Oct. 2012 will get what they wanted. Those who came in after that date will be scaled back by 50%.
It seems they got a big rush of applicants in around the closing date. Earlier on there wasn't much interest in the SPP.
