My apologies for lack of info about cost of cfoam per cubic foot as well, from the company announcement it is priced at $375. I'm assuming that is sales price not production cost, when at full capacity 80000 x 375 = 30m which is close to the 28m they give as guidance. When you factor in the two nearest composite with same thermal expansion coefficient is priced at $1380 and $3500 per cubic foot you can understand then why the demand from multiple users is dramatically increasing. Just in the aerospace tool that cfo is developing for a major manufacturer, it requires 15000ft3 for ONE tool, with multiple tools to be produced annually. Over half our production would go straight to one customer. Consider this, the same level of composite in another material would cost $20.7m and $52.5m respectively, multiply by three a year and you get over $60m to $156m to produce the item a year. CFO can provide it for $5.6m with 3 produced a year that's just under $17m. Let me repeat that, you can make 3 for the price of 1 of the cheapest similar composite. I can understand the push for more production, we can't physically meet the need and no manufacturer would run two different tools to produce the same item. The items produced need to be under the same processes to ensure they are uniform. I would hazard to guess that contract will not be awarded until the company can guarantee it can produce at least 3 tools a year to satisfy the needs for the customer. It doesn't want to switch over to cfoam only to be stuck half way through the year changing their processes back to another composite because they can't get a replacement tool.
