"The West Virginia Coal Association convened its 46th annual West Virginia Mining Symposium January 29/30 at the newly renovated Charleston Coliseum and Conference Center in Charleston West Virginia. The conference focused very much on safety and reclamation achievements of the coal mining industry.Touchstone Research Laboratory's President and CEO gave a wide ranging talk about CFOAM carbon foam - a group of coal-based products manufactured by one of Touchstone's spin outs, CFOAM, Ltd.CFOAM carbon foam is fireproof and incredibly strong. The largest selling product could sustain the weight of a car on one square inch.Brian also discussed another Touchstone spin out, Touchstone Advanced Composites which uses CFOAM carbon foam to manufacture molds to produce next generation carbon fiber aircraft and rocket parts. That line of business has over 30 employees and will soon be making an announcement of a major expansion.

Brian explained, "We are making aircraft more efficient using coal-based CFOAM carbon foam. Rockets are being manufactured with coal. The worlds fastest sail boats are being made on coal. There is no limit to what we can do with CFOAM carbon foam."Brian went on to say, "Bill Raney has collected together a great group of people and has built an extraordinary organization."
