PASS is not toxic but it does have to be treated so that it never becomes toxic, if it is removed from the ground.
The treatment of AASS and PASS with lime would be very similar, except for the amount of lime used.
The treatment of AASS and PASS by storage underwater would be identical, since both would be in an anaerobic environment.

Distance is not always a deal breaker as long as other problems are solved by the transporting of the material some greater distance.
