I have been trying to see if any news articles could show a slightly differing view than the one in the ASX announcement, I think this one gives a few hints, but also to me at least, clear shows that the acting MD has no idea what hes on about.... "Brad has always said when we get to a certain size, he will not be the guy to run this business; he's an early-stage builder," Mr McKerlie said.
What a crock.... Brad has been running DLS with a market cap that went as high as $800 million, with more than 2 years of 3mmbo being produced!
Also this - Mr Lingo's exit took some of the market by surprise but Mr McKerlie said the two had been informally discussing his potential departure for some months and that the "time was now right" after setting the capex budget for 2015-16 and initiating the new growth strategy.
What new growth strategy... all we have is the word of the board, that its looking at other basins... DLS has a huge growth story in the Cooper Basin! IMHO it has all of the major growth potential in the Cooper Basin, which is buy BPT is the predator...
Oh... and then this bulls*&t.
"A sole focus on the Cooper is fine with the oil price is booming but is more difficult when it's not," one observer said.
What???? DLS is literally one of the lowest cost oil producers in the developed world! The western flank is literally the epitome of a cash cow, even when the price of crude is not $100 a barrel.
Also, has this 'observer' noticed that BPT is pulling back to the Cooper Basin big time, by selling all of its overseas assets (Egypt is all but sold too).
And the finale - "Mr McKerlie said Drillsearch would "continue to work hard" at the Cooper Basin but that opportunities further afield would be examined to deliver growth, making use of exploration and development expertise within the company."
What exploration and development expertise??? DLS has its J/V partners literally do all of their exploration and development (they have proven savey at getting the right farmin partners, but I would put that all on Brads skill-sheet). I know this probably comes off as a rant, but seriously, the announcement last week was so full of holes that a siv would be insulted.
