I think there are two elements to your question on Catapult. First, Catapult doesn't instagram or tweet about every single deal they win. They recently updated their website, 2100 clients now from 1800 few months ago. Not every client is a paying one initially. A partnership doesn't mean immediate cash flow. This is not only the case for Catapult as you will be aware - something StatSports certainly is well versed in doing too.
StatSports is likely on their last lifeline, they are desperate to win deals, to gain more access to capital of spin off the business (i.e. to Catapult). This is the problem for StatSport, everyone knows this. Why would someone like Catapult, with cost of equity at ~15%, buy a business that generates negative ROEs? So it's likely a wait and see game, death of a 1000 cuts. Also StatSports has no R&D funding - GPS/battery/mobility tech is improving in great strides and it needs funding for development. These guys are in a difficult corner - the next 12 months will be interesting.
Answers to your 1-3's.
1. Injury prevention is the main idea behind the technology. The units and vests are worn 99% of time while training and that's when injuries also tend to happen. Real time data during training is important to prevent injuries - yes. I don't think, during gameplay, they pay as much attention to it.
2. I've taken Watford out and Southampton. Disagree on Tottenham FC as on Catapult's 2016-17 website, they had them listed as a client. Frankly, I take StatSports "partnership" claims with a grain of salt after Man United came out saying the previous coach never used them. Accounting for those adjustments Catapult still significantly outperform's StatSports (summary below). Maybe you can raise this with StatSport's Sean O'Connor and ask him how do they win these deals? Given their book of higher profile and much better resourced football teams (in terms of fitness and conditioning coaches) records significantly higher incidence of injury, if it isn't the price what is it then, Irish charm??
3. i.e. your earlier post:
"My concern is that the elite teams and the national associations seem to be going with Statsports & others [ Second spectrum / Zebra / WIMU etc.] These teams and national associations do not just go with whoever says they are the "market Leader" - they go with whoever has the best data and analytics"
