Please note that the mean ulcer size for this study's combined patient group was 3.9cm squared and the mean ulcer duration was 4 months (suggesting most patients were the easy-to-treat Margolis 0 category).

Our results appear to blow these results out of water, and yet our patients comprise only the tricky Margolis 1 category, and one third of our patients are receiving placebo.
This Venus study also reported poor compliance, with one third of patients requesting to switch to another form of bandaging/treatment.
I don’t think we have had poor compliance issues...I think if our patients refused to follow the protocol, they get called “dropouts”!

I was worried that the four-layer compression bandage might work better than the two-layer bandage used in our study, but it appears not to have an advantage, if four-layer bandage is equal to two-layer hosiery!
