    Hmmm...

So Boyd was COO at BDR...

I've never been an investor in BDR, only skimmed a few reports over the years, but I don't think many would argue it was "operated well" in recent years.

That said, Boyd wasn't the MD or CEO at BDR and was only there briefly (so fault with recent performance may not lie with him).

He only joined BDR in March 2014 and in that time BDR share price performed very similarly to MML's (make of that what you will).

This is what has been said of Boyd and his performance in his role as COO in BDR reports:

    In March 2014:

BDR is pleased to announce the appointment of Boyd Timler as Chief Operating Officer.

Beadell’s Managing Director, Peter Bowler said that “Boyd’s extensive experience and willingness to spend the majority of his time at the Tucano Gold Mine in Brazil will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our on site management team enabling us to maintain our enviable position of gold cash costs in the lowest quartile globally”.

    Nov 2015:

"Mr Peter Holmes has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer replacing Mr Boyd Timler who has left Beadell to pursue other opportunities. Mr Timler has been instrumental in numerous improvements at the Tucano site over the previous year and his dedication and enthusiasm needs to be acknowledged and commended. "

So he left BDR at a similar time as the BDR management shakeup. Not sure what to make of that. May have been sick of management issues? May have decided to jump rather than be pushed?

Would have been nice if he had experience operating in Philippines, but he's obviously got decent experience in a variety of countries. Let's hope he gets good support from the Board and he keeps the MML momentum going.
