However, on second thoughts, it seems the rise in underlying profit is 'primarly due to lower interest costs'. This somewhat diminishes the improvement in the underlying profit but still indicates that some improvement was achieved in its operating profit, an encouraging sign. However we need to see if any of this was achieved in the USA or soley in the Australian operations.
