Well, Squire, with reference to the TAM website, Gerard McMahon, who is the Chairman and whose name is on the various announcements, "qualified as a Barrister in Hong Kong and NSW. He specialises in company law, securities and banking law and takeovers and mergers. He was the senior executive Director and a member of the HK Securities and Futures Commission from 1989 to 1996 and the representative of the SFC on the HK Standing Committee on Company Law Reform.
Also, on the Board, is Arthur Dew, a non practising Barrister, with lengthy business experience.
I think TAM is in good hands with regard to any legal issues arising from the MLX HOA, and I would imagine they would have been keenly aware of the legalities. Of course, they will need to gain independent advice from a Governance perspective, but it helps a lot when you have legal eagles like this on the Board.
I would imagine that TAM will make some sort of statement today?
