Why HLS is not making more, is because they are limited by government prices....they can't gouge the public (thank goodness....as they do in the USA or for tourists visiting Australia or in Canada (better have medical insurance) )
However, the medical profession still makes good money, I got a filling repaired by a dentist the other day. I asked about the bill and how it compared to medicare payment.
(some people get dental help from government)
The front office wrote down the comparative costs charged and what the government was willing to pay as opposed to what the dentist would normally charge.
Actually the dentist charged only 20$ more for their normal charge for that filling repair.
So if $20 makes a dentist profitable or not.....then I would be surprised. I suggest this is the same for MRI's and ultrasound and blood tests etc. The medical profession still makes money....
