Quite often the directors or management obtain huge amounts of stock simply for being the people who held the tenements or assets that were originally vended into the company when it was an IPO. They often get a huge premium over the assets true worth. Often taken as a combination of cash and stock. Professional tenement traders make a very good living out of that sort of alchemy
