Probably because he is new at investing. He believes all the hype and is sucked in.
At least this is his first stock, so I assume he hasn't invested too much.
The real problems happen when somebody hits a winner first time, then they often think "if only I had invested ten times more". Then the next stock comes along and they pile into it. That's when newbies get scalped by the likes of cvi, imi, gdn etc...
