"...Brucie cannot go above 15% even with the new media laws because it would mean the ownership of more than one commercial TV license."
according to that article, BG cannot own more than one TV license in the same market.
so he owns WIN which transmits TEN in the same market in which Prime transmits Seven.
so maybe for example, BG can buy a TV license in Perth if it is a different mkt from his TV interests.
But what I am wondering, is BG was looking to buy TEN with Lachlan Murdoch, but awaiting Media Reform.
So I am wondering if they are looking at Prime to somehow replace TEN purchase?
Is there anything to stop Prime expanding into other TV mkts ?
why can't Prime buy a TV license in say Perth, or Brisbane etc?
I suppose Prime cannot expand its broadcast of Seven into other mkts, simply because Seven is broadcasting content, and probably contract with Seven limits Prime to its particular area??
But as I mentioned before, why couldn't Prime buy a TV station in say Brisbane?
maybe BG can arrange deal such that Murdoch buys Prime ???
BG keeps his shares at sub 15%.
Murdoch takes the other 85%.
Can BG and LM do to Prime, what they wanted to do with TEN ???
everyone happy.
