I agree fully, r36, that consumers should be aware as to what they are agreeing to when entering a contract.
We are each responsible to have this awareness. There is no dispute in that for me.
But awareness or not, there is zero integrity in ripping people off. Zero, zero integrity.
Just because they can, doesn't mean they should. Not even if we are aware.
I find it morally reprehensible.
And I wish the banks had lost.
It's a new day now, though. And I have as much faith in IMF as ever...
