You need to understand how website development works. You cant just import any ole image from your facebook profile pic into an application and it just works. For a start, to get such a small image of a persons face to strink down to that size, you would need to have a raw data imagine, and it would need to manipulated inside the likes of photoshop, just to meet the requirements of the application.
Most, if any folk are not likely to have photos of this specification of themselves just lying around on there computer.
And come on lets be honest, this website was most likely built years ago, looks to me like the reviews were created in and added to the website in January 2016. Way before CDX was even looking this as an acquisition.
Sure it might be something they wish to address in the future. But i honestly think the company has far more important things on there plate that satisfying the likes of a few people because the images are not that of the person creating the review.
Its just so insignificant to the bigger picture here, that im sure these trivial things will be address in due course.
Im sure big players like Amazon and Apple have used plenty of stock photos in plenty of reviews for products in the past, there are hundreds of websites out there dedicated to building stock photos for web designers to build CMS websites because they know how difficult it is get photos of real people that meet the requirements of that particular plugin, for that particular CMS
I think we should seriously move on from this topic, its just not worth the chatter its getting.
