I don’t want to raise false hopes, but FMG have stated they are looking to diversify their commodity base and South America is one of their prime destinations. Sounds like copper is the main focus and they want to get there through exploration and development but this article also mentions gold and lithium.
Given FMG know how to move dirt and do it efficiently, a gold mine which is on its knees and has suffered due to inefficient dirt movements might be a candidate, considering also it has reasonable reserves/resources and exploration potential.
FMG could refinance all the debt but I can’t see this happening unless they get 100% of the project, meaning a takeover. Just putting it out there as a very very remote possibility. Not a possibility that would have me buying but a possibility nevertheless. Esh
