I think the local workers are comparing their salaries to that of counterparts in construction.
Sydney has had a booming construction industry.
It is smart move to go to 2 year agreement. That way when the boom ends and things slows they can cut the wages again.
But the rationalisation of the two depots may be a good idea long term. One less depot manager role and office manager and so on.
