I'll have another read asap as I didn't digest it all in my first read. I'm off on a break soon and so I don't expect to have chance to do that for a week or so, but you never know....
You say that Orient is barren. It's mineralised I'm sure.
So the crux of the matter iyo is that there are dud alterations and non-dud alterations. That being the case, and as you say, how does one tell them apart!
My thinking has been, with so many teases, that there is valid mineralisation in quite a few places, but that the good stuff is ensconced because of folding and faulting and not just once either. DeG and RB were close to the surface, so they were sort of easy. RB had a gossan too it seems. HL was found (1940s) as it had a gossan as its surface expression - according to my research.
Of course, a gossan is not a sure sign of a deposit beneath, but it's a good place to look, eh!
Maybe though, when all things are considered, SFR's multi-pronged drilling approach is the best way to search.
