matt98 -- That's just not how it works. I've been in payments for a few years & I'm yet to see one high level employee hired without granting shares or options. As a shareholder, I'm all for employees getting grants which are financially material to the employee (and of course reasonable for the position). That's just standard market practice & has been for at least 20+ years. I want nothing more than for a key employee's financial success to be aligned with ours as shareholders. On the contrary, it would be laughable (literally) to tell an potential employee that if they want upside/equity then they need to buy shares on the market.
