I'm not doubting that Botanix is the only one operating in CBD dermatology space but I just wonder why that is the case. Dunkeljoe may be on the money. Perhaps the tie up that Botanix has with Permetrex is what makes Botanix unique in using CBD for dermatological treatments (?).

Botanix say in their website that they are licensed to use Permetrex but they seem coy about the details of that license. In the prospectus from April 2016 for much of the document they simply refer to the licensor as being "Dr Cooper" but in the Intellectual Property Report the licensor is identified as "Dr Eugene Cooper" but no other details about him were given. My guess is that our Dr Eugene Cooper is this Dr Eugene Cooper, though in some of the Botanix documentation Dr Cooper (and not the company that he appears to work for) is listed as a consultant to Botanix..

I've had a quick look at the prospectus and elsewhere but cannot find out the financial details of the licensing arrangement between Dr Cooper and Botanix. Even in the ASX announcement of 3 February 2017 which is specifically about Botanix securing an expanded license for Permetrex they do not even mention that the licensor is Dr Eugene Cooper or what the details of the expanded license are.

Anyway if indeed Permetrex is indeed what separates Botanix for any potential competitor then that license with Dr Cooper is of paramount importance.
