These Manganese smelters do need upgrading no doubt about that. How much do you think needs to be spent to upgrade these 50 old furnaces? The power/electricity requirement of these 50 year old furnaces is another issue.
GMC plans to use power/electricity that is already double that of all competitive alloy smelters in the world and triple the cost of the huge alloy smelters in Sarawak Malaysia.
GMC is starting off on the back foot, with antiquated furnaces using excessive power, and also using expensive power. All I can see is a lot of money going down a big black hole. GMC might make a dollar if ferro manganese is at record prices as indicated in some GMC reports.
The only way to make money on GMC is to buy at .006c and sell at .007c
