To do business in Indonesia, the business has be living and mixing in Indonesia. You cannot remotely run a remote mine site in Indonesia say from Perth and expect Business conditions to be the same as in Australia. It is either SRK management's arrogance or lack of local knowledge (knowing they have a local partner) that they cannot get approvals. I have extensive experience in Indonesia and for the record there are about 200 Australian companies doing business in Indonesia and > 90% are very sucessful - SRK is no different - it is how you interact with the local communities, govt authorities and adhering to approval processes and most important patience!. I posted mid-last year after reading the April 2010 Activity report which had June 2010 start date - SRK were dreaming and are still dreaming and keep dreaming because it ain't happening at least for the next 12 months. Re-read this post 12 months times because we would have made very litle progress.
