I did write to ASIC the day after this announcement.
Today I had a phone call and spoke for nearly 20 minutes to a person from ASIC.
They will look in to the way this notice was issued - just before the meeting - and will get back to me (in writing) in about 2 weeks.
It was a very interesting conversation and gives me a bit more confidence in ASIC.
In some instances it appears to be the results will depend on the person you are communicating with.
Strange as it may seem, I had been going through the ASIC web site this morning to see if there was another way of approaching things!
