Not a holder, but isn't NOV a fintech transaction company? I wouldn't see NOV as trying to market a crypto currency, but being an enabler of the transactions on crypto networks and the ultimate conversion to fiat, clipping the ticket on each transaction.

From the Reddit site on Stellar partnerships:

"• Novati (ASX:NOV) - is an Australian-based software technology and payment services provider. Novatti is currently working to integrate it’s platform into the Stellar network with the ultimate aim to build a global money transfer solution to provide cross border, cross currency and cross asset payments."

How does this work in practice. At ICIC bank in India it works like this:

"Stellar now provides ICICI Bank with an open-source online ledger, or blockchain, designed to oversee the movement of money. ICICI Bank customers in India and abroad can transfer money through a free mobile wallet over Stellar’s platform. These transfers are made in real fiat currency, but internally they are documented in cryptocurrency. While the transfers are recorded on Stellar’s ledger in a cryptocurrency called ‘lumens,’ ICICI Bank holds the value for these transactions in Indian rupees in a pooled account. Due to the open nature of Stellar’s platform, ICICI Bank customers can transfer money to customers at any other bank on the platform. Stellar’s open platform has allowed ICICI Bank to easily connect with financial institutions that it might not have connected with otherwise."

Essentially, I would see NOV as the wallet provider for the conversion of fiat to crypto and back again, clipping the ticket. Given Stellar is based on IBM open source blockchain, banks, global traders even countries etc may develop crypto on the same platform to enable these transactions and conversion to fiat.

A company like NOV would be able to apply its Stellar learning to these new crypto's, rinse and repeat. It really would mean the platform would become crypto agnostic, just a means of enabling more transactions and clipping the ticket on the way.

    Cheers
