I thought earlier in the week it might be for shorting but this doesn't seem to be happening and the trading volumes are low (compared to the volume borrowed/loaned) and the price went both up and down this week.
Why else would somebody borrow stock and then return it (and then borrow it again)? Perhaps they're just waiting on news like everyone else and they will move when all is revealed. Still it's entertaining to see the 1 unit trades swinging the price all over the place. Why this should be allowed is a mystery to me but hey - what do I know?
