Thanks - good summary of the situation.
I agree it will be some years before the RBA's interest rate returns to 3.5% - it would kill the economy. Poor presentation by the RBA, I suppose got the dogs running plus the fact that the Canadian CB recently hiked rates by 0.5% for the first time in 7 years. The AUD and CAD are basically level pegging.
My expectation had been for a lower AUD to basically offset most of the impact of a falling USD POG. That assumption has been proven wrong.
