Why now, at the current elevated valuation?
Surely they can't be that naive by thinking that the bid for AkzoNobel will translate into something similar happening to DLX.
I certainly hope it doesn't because, if DLX was to be acquired I would lose out on the long-term growth in the business's intrinsic value. (And I would have to pay the Tax Office a significant sum of money as tax for the capital gain I would have been forced to realise.)
Also, the last time there was talk in the market about DLX being taken over, its board - ostensibly as a defensive measure - went out and made an acquisition of a company that was considered to be vastly inferior in quality to the core Dulux businesses.
