The positive to take from this is that the chairman's investment vehicle seems confident about the future of the 'business'. They have accumulated a large number of shares and are happy to be doing that at 4.5c.
If we imagine that particular holding has an average cost of 4.5c then they double their money at 9c. Triple their investment at 13.5 and so on.
With a 23c average and no spare cash to reduce that average what bothers me is whether there is much incentive for them to push this thing hard enough to enable long term holders to get their money back. In that fantasy world where this becomes a billion dollar business, around $1 a share, Tim Gooch (around 100,000,000 shares) and James Tsiolis and associated entities ( well over 100,000,000 shares) become very wealthy, but they will be pretty wealthy if they can sell at say 20c.
Yes, the $1 is 99% a fantasy but as one of our fellow contributors commented a while ago, these tech stocks are unpredictable and if these guys actually get some traction in China amongst 1.3 billion people, miracles can happen
10,000,000 subscribers at $2 a month for NET can lead to a billion dollar valuation - depending on your parameters of course. Apparently it makes the internet faster up there and that's part of how they are marketing it. Pretty sure I'd pay a couple of bucks for faster internet, if I could get it. Here's hoping the Chinese are as crazy about the internet as Aussies seem to be
P.s. See, I'm not always negative about this stock. Looking forward to an announcement in the next week or so but still expecting the SP to drop initially before responding positively to any good income numbers much later.
