Australian firm Tribeca Investment Partners, Switzerland-based Montreux Capital Management and Canada-based Front Street Capital managed three of the most high-performing hedge funds globally in 2016, according to data provider Preqin's 2017 Global Hedge Fund Report.
All three are focused on natural resources or energy investing.
The Tribeca Global Natural Resources Fund returned 148.6%, followed by the Montreux Natural Resources Fund with 141.6% and the Front Street Canadian Energy Resource Fund with 132.5%.
