I think it is fairer to say long debt maturity, rather than saying "low debt". I can't see corporate activity happening in this market. More likely Seven is building strategic stakes in these companies for the future. I reckon they would have done better to have waited. Looks to me like they missed the lows and have bought into the dead cat bounce in the oil price. Classic amateur move. Time will tell. A few bombs in the middle east might sustain the price for a little while, but the Saudi wells keep pumping and deflationary pressures in the US and the rest of the world driven by balooning money supply mean that oil storage capacity will continue to fill. Plenty of time to run on this oil price saga IMO. Let's hope DLS can push up off the back of their acreage potential however.
