Perhaps Paris Creek didn’t make sense for BFC because BFC has performed so poorly? Another acquisition would hardly have been appealing to BFC investors since they can’t make it work with their rather wide portfolio already. Meantime, BFC said themselves that Paris Creek was competing with them. What’s the utility in trying to buy every competitor? It’s a terrible use of capital. Better to out-compete your competitors. I won’t make the long case for LON again here, but it’s far too early to be calling overpaid/failure on Paris Creek when you have zip inside information. More than that - saying agriculture isn’t scalable is laughable . Organic is niche but so what? They’re not trying to be Murray Goulburn or Fonterra. They’re aiming to build high ARPU products and now with a facility with excess capacity, there is the potential to scale by expanding farms, herds etc.
Last time I looked Bellamy’s was a highly successful business. In any case the proof is in the pudding - Laura has major institutions, sophistacated investors and hundreds and hundreds of others backing her. All well aware of the Bellamys history. Maggie Beer is irrelevant if you’re backing McBain since it pre dates her. If you’re not, there is no investment case so realistically this is not the stock for you
