Well I think it’s very dark -the way some fund managers operate ...I just saw again on Shortman that for NRW around 25% of the 14 million volume on that big day last month ( before we entered the 200 index) was short sales ... creating the opportunity for the huge ‘low price’ off market transfer after close . https://www.shortman.com.au/stock?q=nwh
Fund quackery?
Since then, as the price fell, CBA clearly acquired as they were back on the substantial holder list 11 trading days later.
Which seems to show in these modern times one hand is legally able to pass money to another after forcing the price down so as to take a profit both from the losses and also from the ability to purchase at a low price .
....probably using the index requirements as a legitimate excuse ?
To quote @jacko1 ”...if it looks like a duck.....etc”
And as far as carnivorous ducks go (and substantial holder announcements ) I notice Maca (MLD) has CBA actually making their yo yo games public with their ‘change to substantial holder’ announcements :..
on board March 19, off again March 26 and on again March 29 (short selling in the three days between March 26 and March 29 was close to 40% of volume day 1, close to 40% of volume day 2 and around 20% of volume day 3.)
Over there Schroder also seems to have been working the shorts last week https://www.shortman.com.au/stock?q=mld ie comparatively huge volume and high shorting just before their increase to substantial holding .
(I have been getting a few of them too so thanks Schroder and CBA.)
Which possibly translates to potential for some excellent buying opportunities here as well?
if $1.17 is technically that critical support line -as Saragian says - then i presume that means there is a big entity sitting at that level ready to gobble and only extremely bad news is going to make it retreat.
between there and where we are now in price it’s just shorts poker between the big guys because most of the small buyers are sitting tight waiting to see how things turn out ....
