$6 a pound nickel will be a thing of the past. Battery manufacturers need the metals - it is that simple.
I remember that watching a video from Cambridge last year where the commentator said that the industry can sustain much higher prices as a unit cost per vehicle - its just a matter of the markets overwhelming the paper tigers. Palladium is a classic example of the paper markets losing control due to a lack of the underlying commodity.
Will be interesting to see if the LME nickel sulphate contract comes into fruition. It is still planned for this year some time I believe.
Its just a matter of patience
