I have said in past posts that I can’t attest to the prospectivity of RoD. The mine is located at Gaffneys Creek. There is visible gold showing where the shoots have been driven on and recent drilling has been encouraging. The issue, like Morning Star, is that of orebody volume. MS was rich (and still is at depth) but was always a low tonnage operation. Shaft haulage - main shaft and underlay shaft - were not impediments to production. Grade control to minimise dilution meant minimal stope sizes and hand sorting by the airleg miners was the order of the day. The mill comprised a twenty head stamp battery and a cyanide plant resulting in good gold recovery.
I sincerely hope that RoD comes on line but I don’t resile from my thoughts on Stacpooles.
