On the contrary, Exco aren't silly at all, in the past they were a very successful explorer and made their shareholders a lot of money, they always had the best ground and weren't afraid of drilling. Since the SOL takeover they have been quieter than before. There are quite a few EXS discovery holes that haven't been followed up yet due to budget constraints and low Cu price and exploration sentiment in the past.
Newcrest have JVd in and out of various parts of the Eastern MtIsa fold belt. They would be looking for a Tier 1 Ernest Henry or Tick Hill type discovery.
Some of the extremely high grade Au results that AMG have had are a little reminiscent of the early discovery holes at Tick Hill. If any AMG holders or holders of other companies in the area don't know about the Tick Hill deposit then I highly recommend that the do a little research on Tick Hill.
Like everyone else, I look forward to the results of the Newcrest drilling.
A bit early to be speculating about takeovers yet in my opinion, but love the optimism!
