Yes ! I also read this- I did very nearly refer to Manganese potentials when I posted !
I thought twice- as I was already being confusing enough I felt .
I agree - also - *Manganese is looking good ~ very believable for ...’down the track’ .. .. ?
(The - * Feature was already borderline here - since AVQ is the focus it looked /is - though it is a huge comment on Nickel dynamics overall )
True Nickel fundamentals - are I think very much under- seen by the ‘Market ‘ !
Ms. ‘Market ‘ is more fickle than Nickel itself .. .
(The Friedland/ AUZ ra ra remark in amongst, about nickel sulphide by comparison to Lithium drive . * but very relevant to St George . )
I posted this .
Thought otherwise - was already complex enough !
( didn’t need also to be going into the emergence of .. graphene ! great synergies , silica .. etc . Graphite flake tragics - to be fair there are significant advances to purity roasting measures to ‘purify ‘ flake Graphite , RNU / AXE etc ! I do not hold any graphite stocks now . May again though )
Manganese was happy to see - thought gives some .., future ! ? hope for companies such as Valor-hold enormous Manganese Resource in Sth America , coupled with the incredible Copper + Silver ! off the charts .. not cross promoting . Just sayin ‘.
These resources will stay in the ground , a long ways off even having full exploration monies required , and definition of resources .
( I think - some significant areas in Sth America may be waay off ? I don’t know . But sold out accordingly - also the political , and economic uncertainty more pronounced- next door to Argentina also . )
I truly , genuinely - wish the best to all.
Mostly- for compelling feasible , high grade resources , beneficial to develop for local people ~ to Advance ! I am a huge St George fan .
I rarely worry about it .
I’m here for the longterm
I have consciously , and happily - moved to Hold - local safe jurisdiction resources companies - Nickel my no. 1.
( for the record - I regard the SI as local , our friends and neighbours )
Simplest way I look at things - forming my view -
tilted to nickel .
Technology developments are still Emerging . And will be for out into the next decade ..
overall -
**Nickel demand - is increasing.
*1. sourced from laterites for bulk into SS/construction in EVs , even potentially? EV batteries , via conversion to sulphide .
** 2. sulphides are the pinnacle resource.
( apologies- I’ve no geology background , nor Mining true knowledge. Just try to keep working it out . I seriously like following commodities)
***SGQ will be Mining high grade nickel sulphide well before any final advances or significant bulk uptake in alternate technologies (?)
SGQ-also -
Has welcome Cobalt
+ Copper ! & Gold as well ! ,
& other credits which I hope very much can all ultimately be extracted . ****
**Higher base commodity prices are needed in the 2020s - to accomodate towards all - to gain the most sustainable , environmentally Best development practices . **
(Emerging nation governments are gradually , steadily cleaning up environmentally retrograde mining and other primary activity where unsustainable. Also addressing - major human rights issues , deaths and servitude type artisanal corrupt even - mining operations . Eg . Tin , Cu , nickel haphazard operations where lands will not be able to be rehabilitated if continues with ongoing severe impacts on local people in the future )
I think Nickel sulphides - will be Mined , Not Made — in the nearish foreseeable future.
Just my thoughts .
Alternate - technologies - the main candidates - will be steadily selected , need to still to be determined .
Will & Must always , be DEMAND driven .
* Purpose driven .
“ Fit for Purpose “- of end users , it’s What it is All about .
(I also like - an article yesterday : along the lines of -
“Miners - are turning into chemistry , innovative materials companies “
Likely / ‘predictably’ now it has been for some time that - Lithium , Graphite base-grade product , even nickel volume demand - concerns over ., will Lessen . (?)
*Nickel demand though will be offset by increased requirements for consistent , base metal , Nickel notably - overall ?
Nickel sustained ongoing demand- to be due to multiple new sources of demands? IMO !
(despite Chinese current ‘foxing ‘ with the Nickel market , manipulation likely ? )
And of course I do not know ! All predictions are too rubbery very far into the future.
I think don’t forget -
***Importance - of Emerging nations growth .
India ! Indonesia , Vietnam . The Philippines.
**Asia will be by far - the most enormous economic bloc ! ~ way more by 2050 .
And Nickel will be needed - and more .
Ongoing .
(This is what I think . My personal conclusions - pls all DYOR )
Longterm it will be sorted - be stable .
**But the shift - up into gear - for more nickel miners - is coming on .. this is now , and must happen . IMO . All the best .
