Thanks BrendanL, full marks for effort!
I have a better idea after your "presentation" and after viewing a few YouTube videos. We use SharePoint at work and as I don't use it all the time, it tends to be a maze, whereas I can see that with LiveTiles, someone could quite easily transform it into something a lot more accessible and useful.

I topped up a little today and will continue my research before going any further, because there's lots of fresh air below that 43-45c support line.
