No doubt the industry is capital intensive but labour costs would still be the second largest cost after the raw material costs of the product itself but is also the costs of energy/rental of production facilities etc that make Australia so expensive. They purchased a closures business so import freight cost not significant & even with bottles you can bring them in pre blown to full size or they may find say cost effective up to 600ml to import. As for quality coming out of china all the more reason to have your own business to control quality from the start.
