thats quite a cheap shot considering the length of career, yet you decide to focus on only the last few years when clearly the market for stores has changed due to ease of access through online presence
holding a GM role for 20 years at a listed company, i would say, requires some level (high) at least of skill and knowledge.
your second point is valid, they really need to sell more before they start hiring more 'executives'
