I must admit that I am a little underwhelmed by this appointment.
Cameron's banking career peaked as branch manager for a suburban St George branch and it would not seem that he has much (if any) prior board experience, much less ASX board experience.
It would seem that they had to do "in-house" to find a new director at this time which does not inspire confidence. It would have been a far stronger market signal to get an external and experienced director - I am not sure of they tried and were unsuccessful or if they just went for the most expedient solution.
Recent events do not inspire confidence and the continued "blackout" of information does not bode well for when this stock comes back on market.
