You would have to think that the BoD would not have appointed a CEO of Mr Evans calibre, and also pay him $230k pa, unless it had expectations of him being very useful. This thought has more oomph when you see how frugal the BoD has been - new and cheaper premises, a voluntary and quite substantial reduction in the 2 non-Execs' fees and so on. Why now add this extra financial burden?

    What's up Doc!!

    What's cooking!!

Are we looking at a merger with Horseshoe Metals (HOR)? The message has been out for some time now about corporate activity with specialists having been consulted. Mr Evans, despite being a geo, has had quite a bit of experience on the corporate side, to wit, from the ann:

Mr Wade is a geologist with 25 years’ experience in the resources sector in Australia and New  Zealand across exploration, business development and mergers and acquisitions.

HOR has been virtually moribund since Neil Marston left about 2 years ago. It's been leaderless. Minimum ASX compliance has been practised I would suggest. Waiting for something? Michael Fotios is by far the biggest shareholder there, and since Nov last year he has gained a decent foothold in AUR. Waiting for that?

Bronwyn Barnes was his appointee to the Board, but that said, from what i have heard, I believe that she would not be his mouthpiece. She has very good credentials to be the Chair.

Is there a business connection between BB and Wade Evans? Yes there is. Here is one that I have found. It's from the may 17 Preso of Indiana Resources, but there may be more.

I can see some merit in merging with HOR from the perspective of increasing prospective ground holdings near AUR's unexplored existing holdings and maybe also getting the benefit of a Mining Lease at Horseshoe Lights (still current I think). The elephant (if i can be so crude) though is Mr Fotios. Where would that put him in the new top 20? Number 1 with a bullet I would suggest.

    Food for thought I reckon!!
