No worries Rodi...can't say it's made me rich, however I only do the occasional punt, and it appears to work quite well.

It's much along the lines of my philosophy on betting on horses....rather than put $100 on the favourite at 2:1, I'd rather back 3 horses for $5 at 25:1.....the likelihood is low but the potential loss is also comparitively low. I've spread my bet across a wider arc of chance by having a 3/8 chance rather than 1/8 chance but the return can be a little more rewarding (and exciting).

I realise the considerations around previous performance, weather conditions, jockey etc etc, but I prefer to ignore those and just focus on the fact that statistical anomolies occur and I am thereby increasing my exposure and leverage based on that fact.....much like the currently popular concept of the 'black swan' which seemed to beautifully embody many of my own investment philosophies.

That said, I must say that a hell of a lot of analysis and thought goes into my share purchases, however the philosophy is essentially the same.
