sorry but your statements are completely incorrect. As someone who used to work in this area and is still close to the market I have to correct this. I do agree longer term this model is challenged but brokers vols are as high as they have ever been and the changes to lending standards by APRA and ASIC plus geographic overlays on lending policy mean understanding and applying directly is increasingly difficult and is opening up the market further for brokers.
Plus younger generation are sadly not the ones buying houses - FTB are at all time lows nationally as investors continue to drive the market.
The broker model is far from dead in AUS - it really couldn't be further from the truth
