Not sure if downramping is the best term to use as he isn't a trader of any substance in the sector. He expressed a clearly negative opinion about OSL's technology and market strategy (among others) but it's not like he hasn't passed clear and definitive negative comment on other companies in the sector. And though I agree it's atypical for a public company director to publicly pass judgement on others in the sector, I am not convinced it reveals a lack of professionalism - after all, he was a well-known industry commentator before the TIS board extended an offer to join them.
And despite the threat of legal action, it seems nothing of substance eventuated. This suggests either the legal claims had insubstantial basis or that the claimant had no real intent to pursue action.
In fairness, I believe he is more than capable of making comments on a company and concentrating on his job at TIS. Either way, the blog has closed until the next incarnation is revealed.
