Yep, this is the device that is part of their big US deal.  I think someone here mentioned CAT had the opportunity to do this deal but didn't as it was a poor financial deal.
I think they are basically giving US soccer 6,500 new devices for free.  At $300 a pop, that's 2m right there.
I would love to see their books.....

From Forbes article on deal:
The USSF will not be paying STATSports £1bn ($1.4b). "That’s the total value of the deal if all 4.2m registered soccer players buy the APEX Device. USSF will pay for the devices which cover their elite teams and amateur players are expected to follow their lead."

So there is no guaranteed money here outside their elite teams.  Statsports have given them 6,500 free devices and signed a product deal with the USSF.  Obviously they expect strong uptake in the product due to what is happening up top but stating the deal is worth 1b+ is flat out wrong.
For every customer CAT signs up in the US you can take that off the 1.4b some were initially stating the deal to be worth for SS.  Playertek sales have been pretty strong in the US just going off their twitter.
Very interesting to see how this plays out...

Would love to see an educated comparison between the two products...i'm guessing the metrics and numbers side are very similar.  Hopefully for us the smartcoach in CAT's PLAYR device provides the amatuer soccer player something that the Apex device doesn't.
